What the form sends

When you send the form, the guide receives your name, the contact or contacts you chose to give, and what you wrote: the entry or place concerned, your message, the link you added and your connection with the place. The address and the language of the page you sent it from come with it. The form also has one field that people cannot see; it is there to stop automated spam.

Where it is kept and what for

Messages are held by a form service and read together at the next revision of the guide. They are used to confirm and carry out what was reported, and for no other purpose. You are written to only if your message asks for it. Your name and contact are never published, sold or passed to the club or organiser in question; a published correction states what changed and not who reported it.

Counting visits

Visits are counted by a small script that is served from this domain. It sets no cookie and follows nobody to other websites. For a page view it records the page, the page the visitor came from, and the browser, type of device and country derived from the request. These figures are read as totals, never visitor by visitor.

No outside content

The site loads no advertising, no social-network buttons and no tracking code from other companies, nor fonts, map tiles or images from elsewhere. A link to a source or to a map takes you to another website, which has its own rules. The hosting company processes technical data such as IP addresses to the extent needed to deliver the pages.

Erasing a message

If you want a message you sent to be erased, write again through the form under the same name and contact and say which one. It is deleted from the form service when the messages are next read. You are told so only if you ask and leave a contact.
