Chess in Peristeri 4

Notes on this list

In Peristeri chess means, before anything else, Skakistikos Omilos Peristeriou. The club has its rooms at the stadium of Atromitos, teaches groups from kindergarten age to adults on most days of the week, and names early-evening hours when visitors can come by. Its open rapids are announced through the Attica union.

Two tournaments make its calendar. The Tuesday Open is a seven-round event played one round a week, rated nationally and internationally, and it has been held dozens of times; juniors pay a reduced fee. The Papanastasio Open is the summer event, a week of play at the end of August in a conference centre, organised together with the municipality and split into two rating groups. A second name, Pnevmatiki Stegi Peristeriou, stands in the federation register, but no recent notice or league entry was found for it.
