Clubs whose lessons start from the first moves 11

These are the clubs whose own pages say that a beginner is expected. For adults the choice is wider than it used to be: Ilioupoli has an adult beginners’ group on Tuesdays, Peristeri has one on Sunday afternoons, Neoi Vyronos one on a weekday evening and the club of Nea Filadelfeia one on Mondays, followed by a class for adults who already play. The Irakleio club holds seminars for adult beginners, and Panionios has an adult group that meets online.

For children, nearly every club here has a first-step group: Ilioupoli on Saturday morning for those who come for the first time, Peristeri from kindergarten age, Ampelokipoi in its afternoon hours, Kallithea and OPAX in Cholargos for all ages and levels. Lefkippos in Vari offers a trial lesson, and Korydallos invites newcomers and publishes what it charges. Groups form at the start of the school year, but a club will usually say whether a late start is possible.
